Reshaping the A-share Market
On April 12th, China’s State Council released a guideline on strengthening regulation, forestalling risks and promoting the high-quality development of the capital market. This is the third guideline document on the capital market from the State Council in two decades. The first two were issued in 2004 and 2014, respectively.
Wu Qing, Chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, said that compared with the previous two documents, the one issued this time have three major characteristics: first, they fully reflect the political and people-oriented nature of the capital market; second, they fully embody the mainline of strong regulation, risk prevention and promoting high-quality development; third, they fully reflect a goal-oriented and problem-oriented approach.
